The realization of a spectacular project was carried out together with a Saudi Arabian partner: the sheep meat logistics for the Hajj, the annual pilgrim event in Mecca, had to be optimized. „The many millions of pilgrims naturally also need huge amounts of food to feed them. As main food serves sheep meat“, explains Alexander Brandl, together with Gerhard Gangl, both managing directors of the 7iD. Around 4 million sheep are delivered, slaughtered and consumed in the days of Hajj, around 900,000 per day. Behind this is a complete logistics system that did not function optimally in the past from the point of view of the responsible ministry. For this reason, the Ministry relies on traceability from the slaughterhouse to the dealer in order to increase the quality level. Complete tracking, as RFID systems allow.
